Final Anaylsis

1. TOPIC 1: How is Social Media used in each media vehicle?  Is it used in conjunction with other media channels (cross-referencing or linking to other media)?  Describe how this is happening, and in your opinion, the perceived impact on the "target" audience.
Social Media is used as a way to show user generated footage or eye witness accounts of news. Also, it is used to connect the audience with that media vehicle. For example, People can join LA Times Newspaper Facebook page to follow up to the minute news and updates. It allows people to access news type things from their phones.Social Media is completely intertwining itself throughout all the Media Vehicles and it is evident everywhere you look today. The target audience is getting way to much information and to many advertisements making the consumer want to by more and more. I think social media is connecting everyone together in the world a lot quicker.

2. TOPIC 2: Fact checking, accuracy, and credibility:  In your analysis, compare each media vehicle, and the effectiveness of the news reporting.  Does the story vary in its facts from one vehicle to another?  How is the information conveyed differently across the various mass media channels?  Does the use of multimedia impact fact checking, accuracy, or credibility (in other words, how are news stories supported? What sources are cited to support their reporting?)
The newspaper is very good at reporting, but I believe that it will be going to completely online soon. Television does a good job at reporting the news, but sometimes its the news we really do not care about or is not important. Blogs are a good source of mostly opinionated information because people convey the information how they want you to hear it. Social Media is a great source of news reporting you can get eye witness videos, stay up to the minute of twitter and Facebook, social media is the future. For the most part all the media vehicles have the same facts, sometimes the story is twisted to be in favor of a certain group. They are conveyed in many ways, television, internet, and internent are just a few. Yes, the use of multimedia shows the story support, by putting up videos of eye witnesses, using other sources for facts. The names of people who know what there talking about are cited and all professionals in that field they are reporting they can cite.

3. TOPIC 3: Multi-media reporting:  In cases where a news agency has both an online and another media channel presence (for example, CNN has a cable channel, plus an online website), how is the message of the story conveyed?  Is the story part of an ongoing news cycle (that is, part of an hourly or other periodic broadcast)? How is the news story presented in its online counterpart?  Is there a difference in the way the story is covered online?
When a company has two forms of media vehicles, online and another agency the message is conveyed a little differently. They will talk about it on the television, but then tell you for more information on this go to CNN.com or something of that matter. Yes, the story is part of a news cycle that is never stopping so you can go online to read more about it with out being speed thru it. The story is presented as a link and you click on it to get the full story. Also, the stories are organized by what they have to do with. I think the story can be more lengthy online because they are not pressured for time.

4.  TOPIC 4: The presence of Citizen Journalism.  One example of this is where news media programs take video submitted from viewers' cell phones.  Another example is where websites aggregate (compile) news stories from both major- and independent sources, such as CurrentTV (http://www.currenttv.com), or even YouTube.com.  How does this form of journalism impact the user experience from the audience's perspective? Does the reporting (or video in this case) raise issues of ethics, especially in terms of privacy, or freedom of speech?  Explain.
This form of journalism makes the audience more connected with the victims or the news story. Audience see the real up close of what happens and it makes things more dramatic. Example of this is the videos of the batman massacre, people filmed it while it was happening off their phones. It does not get more real than that, people see these and want to keep watching. Makes news more interesting. I do not think this really infringes on anyones rights or freedoms. Ya a person could be on TV that does not want to be seen, but it is a source of media that is a must have. If we did not have eye witness videos it would not be as dramatic. Look at  wars before TV people really did not think war was that bad, until they saw the brutality of it. So no there shall be no issues raised on this subject because it is needed to keep people informed.

Many cities have been trying to ban the use completely, but municipalities say that they can not over rule a state permitted law. We will see soon if Los Angeles will try to ban the use of medical marijuana.

Blog (89.3 KPCC) Alice Walton: Reefer madness: committee votes to ban medical marijuana clinics in Los Angeles (updated)
Councilmen say, "Its about the many who spoiled it for the few", that clinics have brought lots of crime with  it. One councilmen wants to completely ban medical marijuana, but the many of them believe they need to leave a couple dispensaries open, not have a complete black market. If the ban is enforced people who have correct prescription will be able to grow it on their own and only residential care or hospices   will be allowed to have it.

Many lets youtube viewers know of the protest going on in front of city hall. Also, where to go, when to go, what you need to bring, and what one should have prepared to talk. He lets you know who is going to be there. He is against the ban of medical marijuana and wants to get as many people down to city hall as he can to oppose the ban.

Romney's Overseas Fortune: Follow Up

Newspaper: Bob Jindal continues to back everything that Romney has done. Jindal is the front-runner to become Romney's Vice-President, pretty much backing whatever he does, good or bad. Obama is taking full advantages of this weakness in Romney's campaign. Obama has been putting out anti- offshoring ads on TV.

Television: There has been no updates for this article

Blog: Romney continues to defend his overseas fortunes. He says, Americans should be proud to know that we have someone successful running for office, unlike Obama who has no business background. The problem is that Romney has these fortunes in overseas accounts to dodge paying taxes. If he was not so powerful, you would think he would be arrested for tax evasion.

Socia Media: There has been no updates for this media vehicle.

State Voters ID Laws: Follow Up

Newspaper (LA Times): PA. Voter ID Laws Contested
State ID voting laws have become a hot topic in this nation. People are not being able to vote because the do not have a valid government issued id. This has disfranchised thousands of voters across the country and really will only be effecting the democrats. Since I originally read this story there was lots of angry about the issue, but no one was doing anything. Now voters are taking action, there has been a lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania through the ACLU, The American Civil Liberty Union. The outcome of this lawsuit will most likely decided who our next president will be. If they say the law is unconstitutional then Obama will most likely win. If the law stays the same, then Romney will most likely take the presidential race. Should it be fair that this is why Romney wins??

Television (Bloomberg Law): Voter ID Laws Controversy
Bloomberg states that many people are trying to fight this controversy. People all see the effect this will have on this years election and do not want the outcome to be decided because of this ridiculous law. The department of Justice is planning on fighting this unconstitutional law and make sure that everyone has their right to vote.

Blog (JS Online): Wisconsin Judge Finds Laws Unconstitutional
A judge in Wisconsin decided that the State Voters ID Laws are unconstitutional and everyone should have the right to vote. The judge says this creates a, "Substantial impairment of the right to vote" that is guaranteed in the constitution. Across the country this law is in effect in many states and something needs to be done, so Americans can have a true election.

Social Media (Twitter): Twitterer shows how bogus law is....
In Pennsylvania, the State Voter ID Laws are a huge issue. Many people have been talking about this law and how it is just a way for Republicans to try to cheat the election and have for sure win. Michael Smerconish states that there is no proof in PA. that shows a problem with impersonation fraud when voting takes place. So there is no reason to keep this law in effect if it is not protecting anyone, except Romney and the presidential race.

CYCLE 2: Romney's Overseas Fourtune

Newspaper (Indian TImes):Bob Jindal Defends Romney and his overseas money
We should be proud we have a president that is a business man in Jindal's eyes. According to him, a president needs to have run a business to run our country. I think it upsetting how Romney made his money, he really is part of why we are all so in  a crappy economy.

Television (CNN) :Romney Defends overseas fortune

Blog (Politico): Romney bashes Obama, Defends vacation
Ginger Gibson, wrote that Romney bashed Obama because he is trying to turn a family vacation into something about how much money I have. He hopes that all Americans can take their family on vacations. Obviously he doesn't realize most the country is unemployed, no one except the rich are really going on vacation. Im sure Romney's vacation is a lot more lavish than one a middle class person would go on.

Social Media (Facebook): Americans against Fox News and Republicans
People are very upset with Romney and his antics. He decided not to show his income tax forms and lied about the overseas accounts that have a fortune in them. Romney is estimated to be worth around 1/4 billion but, why is he so weary to show taxes forms to the American voters.

CYCLE 1: States' Voter ID Law

Newspaper (LA Times): State Voters' ID Laws
Voters are being disfranchised because they do not have Government ID or Passport.

This will being taking votes away from thousands in many states, including, PA.

Some people believe this strict voting law is some ways fraudulent because it helps republicans, and stops mostly democratic voters from being able to take their vote.

Mississippi Voters need to have birth certificate to get a Voter ID and to get the birth certificate you need a State ID. How are we going to allow hundreds of thousands of voters not be able to vote. Should we rethink these laws??
